Mok Su And Sarasa
Mok Su - a 26-minute performance full of nuances that will make you yearn for the good old days of Mak Yong.
All hell breaks loose for Sarasa when she finds out that her daughter, a Bharatnatyam student, has eloped with the tailor’s son. All her dreams, lived through her daughter, come crashing down and everyone around her is blamed.
Sarasa is portrayed by Sabera Shaik, regarded as one of the most versatile actors in the country. She reprises her roles in these two solos, which are part of a trilogy called In The Name Of Love written by Ramli Ibrahim in 1990. The solos are directed by Christopher Jacobs.
