Canadian Gabrielle Maes obtained a graduate degree in early music and has done everything from solo oratorio work musical theatre and early opera. She has lived all over the world singing solo recitals in Norway, doing mainly musical theatre in Malaysia where She won the Boh Cameronian award for best actor, the only female Caucasian to ever win. She was also winner of Broadway Canadian Idol and went on to be a finalist in New York's Broadway Idol. She also wrote and performed her one-woman shows in Singapore, Canada, Malaysia, Paris and The USA.
For her concert ‘Bedraggled’ at TLC over two weekends, she follows the rise and fall of the Diva – presenting songs from the opera, musicals and nightclubs. She transforms between characters and with her expressive and inspiring voices, croons unforgettable songs such as Lush life by Billy Strayhorn, A spoonful of sugar (Mary Poppins), Alleluia (Exsultate Jubilate) by Mozart, Habenera and La fleur que to m'avais jetai by Bizet (Carmen), Baltimore Oriole by Hoagy Carmichael, You go to my head by Fred Coots; and El Dia Que Me Qiueras by Carlos Gardel
