Lluís Avendaño: Ebony & Ivory

UiTM Faculty Music presents Lluís Avendaño, a soloist pianist who has performed with the orchestras of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Budapest Liszt Ferenc (Cadaqués Festival-1980 and Torroella de Montgrí- 1982) and the Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra (Basque Country 1983), that was led by Antoni Ros-marble.
Lluís Avendaño is often engaged as a chamber musician, and was playing with the Group Montmartre and Bartholdy Trio Viola, with the instruments of woodwind and cello. He has played in two major groups specialising in twentieth century music: Barcelona 216, conducted by Ernest Martinez Izquierdo, and the Chamber Orchestra of the Teatro Libre, directed by Josep Pons.
His concerts with the group Barcelona 216 have taken him to various European countries, including participating in the Holland Festival in Amsterdam and the Maison de Radio France in Paris. In 1991 he toured the United States with guitarist Manel González, presenting music by Joaquín Rodrigo on the occasion of the composer’s 90th anniversary.
